Why Tonewood Drying Requires Careful Control

The top, back, sides and neck of a guitar must remain dimensionally stable through machining, assembly, finishing and use. From Stacked Boards to Controlled Kiln Drying

The boards are arranged in layers with spacers between them. These airflow paths allow conditioned air to pass across the board surfaces. Stack geometry, spacer alignment and clear circulation paths all affect how evenly a load can dry.
